    Hi all,
Awaiting arrival of new CF-18KDHZXVM later this week, which when activated will have Win XP 2005 Tablet on it.

Having looked through quite a lot of threads for an answer to the following but have not seen any re:

Are there any known issues with upgrading the above software with all of the Microsoft updates, am I right in assuming Tablet 2005 already has Service Pack 2 in it and are there any known driver update issues - including putting on Service Pack 3 with any of the updates?

Have already ordered a 1gb Crucial ram upgrade for when the CF-18 arrives.

Have enjoyed reading the threads so far and look forward to being a participant.

    Cheers

    Dave O

    Az -

Remember; you do NOT have access to the Tablet 2005 upgrade components in SP2 UNLESS you're already running Tablet PC OS; it is licensed as an UPGRADE, not a fresh install. If you install from the Tablet 2005 discs, it has SP2 already integrated.

    Dave -

Welcome to the madness! It is a FINE madness indeed!

As for "upgrading" to SP3... that is a matter for some debate; I'm not really sure it IS an upgrade. About 90% of it is bug-fixes and patches for the gaping security hole that is Internet Exploder and Outlook Express; I've always advocated that you can make Windoze 10x more secure simply by using ANY OTHER Internet Browser and eMail client INSTEAD. In your case, the rest is going to be active Internet Security that will probably slow your machine to a crawl; I would DEFINITELY set a restore point BEFORE applying SP3.

Using Windoze is NOT for pvssies.
