Unbelievably expensive but I am sure the price will come down soon.

I wonder if self-destructing voids the warranty

Looks cool but way too high priced! I can do the same thing by stepping on mine...

It wouldn't fit in the slot of the 29 anyway...

Wouldn't be practical for me. I keep all of my sensitive info on my MacPro which is at home, and while I'm near it would be hard to steal.

One of those degauss plates could be useful at the doorway though, but I'd forget about it and walk through with my laptop.

What's with all the random Dell people showing up now? Is it notebook envy, or slumming?

Let's grab our dictionaries and thesauruses and head over to the Dell forum and take them to school. Obviously they need to learn how to spellcheck.

Latest news through my DCSE channels is that Dell is working with Intel on a quad-core FOAD chip with 64-bit architecture, specifically optimized for use at the IRS. The only holdup is Windows Vista validation, which Microsoft has fast-tracked for scheduled implementation April 14th, 2008.

I heard a rumor it may be pushed back to Feb. 29, 2009 - the April date is intended only as a preview of the interfaces, so users can compare what MS expects to be able to (hopefully) deliver with what is currently available on the market from other vendors. I think internally this project is known as FEE-FIE-FOAD-FUD.

That's the scheduled release for the general public; Microsoft has committed to ensuring that our good men & women at the IRS have the best FOAD in the world before the April 15th rush. Hardware has already been implemented; Microsoft is now tweaking the Vista HAL and command interfaces for full FOAD integration; they expect to make delivery via Automatic Update systemwide on April 14th between 23:59 and 24:00 hours. This will ensure that everyone at the IRS can FOAD on April 15th, just like we all want them to.
