Just a quick heads-up for my friends here on the Forum:

Amazon.com and WalMart.com are running a special on a 18.5" widescreen LCD TV for ONLY $99 with free shipping to home or ship to store.

It's a Viore LC19VH54PB "19-Inch class" 720p (1366 x768) LCD HDTV; it has ATSC Tuner (Digital Tuner), VGA, HDMI and Component (Y Pb Pr) inputs!

    I KNOW it's an El-Cheapo model... but really! A 19" LCD TV FOR $99!

mnem<~~~ Remembers when VIZIO was the El-Cheapo model... AND when Panasonic was too...~~~<<<

Ummm... yeah.... but who buys a 19" TV for the "Real Theatre Experience"?

The point is it's an LCD TV WITH Built-in tuner in a USEABLE SIZE for less than $100!

Just the right size for the office or workbench, or for the kids' room so they can rot their brains somewhere ELSE besides your living room!

And with the HDMI, you can connect it to your PC's DVI out as well... HMMMM... maybe it's time to upgrade my wife's 19" VGA monitor...

This WILL eventually be good for the consumer; as it WILL help drive prices down across the entire industry. The switch from CRT to Flat Panel technology has been a free-for-all of poor customer support, short-lived product and excessive pricing. We should soon see 32" flat-panels down around $175-200, as WAS the starting price for large CRT sets only a few years ago. I doubt we'll EVER see the days of "Buy a TV, stick it in the corner & forget about it for a decade" again though... manufacturers have learned the lesson of planned failure and product turnover...

Now if there was just something worth $99 to watch on it...

I am using an Emachine 18.5" monitor with a CF-52 for my everyday PC. It gave me the dual screen capability and I think I paid $75 shipped from Tiger Direct. Been using it for almost two years now and it works great! Granted, it does not have a tuner, but for $75 how could I go wrong?
