. An adapter without an A2DP profile is a deal breaker for me.
-
No problem... I'm hoping once I have my hands on them, newer software may add that profile; but I'm more interested in the PAN profile for my purposes. I found I was able to get the PAN profile on my wife's HP laptop with Broadcom embedded Bluetooth by updating.
I still say that for $5 it's a steal...

Just kiddng, all good. I hope they sell out soon
I just got board to convert 2.5" IDE to SATA drive in CF-29 put in a 500GB SATA, but had to pretty butcher the caddy to make it fit... one day will post pics and maybe a video. Its exactly like the one COOLDRIVES sells.
Later. -
I did the sata convert on mine and it wasn't as bad as I thought. As for wireless it closes but I open the flap when needed to make wireless easier and extended. So far I'm only using a mouse.

You're looking at the Rev1 specs.
The specs for the Rev2 model (As shown in the photo) are SOMEWHAT smaller.
I'll see when I get mine and will post exact measurements; both fully clothed and NEKKID.
I'll leave it up to you to decide how much that "relative difference in length" means to you.
BTW - They are STILL AVAILABLE!

Am I the only one having problems trying to pay for the two I purchased? I keep getting a server error as they use a third party process to pay via PayPal.

Is it possibly a browser issue?
I had some similar issues with FireFox starting a couple months ago; then updated to the latest version and smooth sailing ever since.
Try a different browser would be my first suggestion; if you use IE and don't have another browser, I'll pray for you. If you use another browser, try IE just long enough to see if it makes any difference.

It probably won't break anything to use it that long... -
Firefox worked for me just now.

UPDATE:
1) the length is measured to be 0.730" (must be the "Ver. 2") ; and,
2) it does fit behind the rear access door of my CF-29 Mk3; and,
3) it comes with a mini-CD containing the Broadcom Bluetooth® drivers ( 5[1].5..0.3200 and 6.0.1.6300) and User Guide.
Installation and setup to follow.
ps: the unit itself it identified as ‘Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR USB Dongle’Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
So... I finally got mine in, and here are the measurements and some pics:
Stock : 0.73" / 18.5mm L x 0.56" / 14.4mm W x 0.25" / 6.4mm H
Skinned: 0.62" / 15.8mm L x 0.42" / 10.8mm W x 0.07" / 1.7mm H
See pics:
a) What's in the baggie: Bluetooth Dongle, Printed Destruction Manual, ( IN ENGLISH, NOT ENGRISH) and Driver Mini-CD with drivers for Win2000(SP4), XP & Vista. YEY!
NOTE: Manual states device is Broadcom 2046 Bluetooth 2.1 USB UHE Dongle and that BT 2.1 Will be available as a software update; hopefully it will include A2DP Support. Double YEY!
b/c) EXTREME closeups of dongle; note tabs highlighted in these pix; you'll need to pry them up with a small screwdriver or knife tip to remove the metal hood for disassembly. Be especially careful with the tabs shown in pic (b) as there are live electronics right there, not just plastic housing.
d) Installed in CF-28, it protrudes from back 0.30" / 7.6mm in stock form.
e) Installed in CF-28 with back door closed. Looks like it was MADE to fit in there; YES, the rubber cap closes without ANY interference.

CONTINUED IN NEXT POST: -
CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS POST Due to forum pic limitations:
f) Dongle with metal hood removed, component side.
g) Dongle with metal hood removed, connector side. Note highlighted plastic interlocks; work these loose to diassemble plastic housing. USB standard pinout included for those seeking to mod this unit internally.
h/j) High resolution scans of nekkid pcb for y'all as promised... *Hears hoots and wolf whistles* TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT ALL OFF!!!
Note the metal disc in (j); it is the pairing button for the KB/Mouse this came bundled with. The manual states you can manage everything from the client in your SysTray, so you SHOULD NOT need to worry about this unless you need to be able to pair before your PC boots, as is sometimes the case with a desktop PC.
k) Installed in CF-28, it protrudes from back 0.20" / 5.2mm once skinned. You could trim the plastic housing to maintain proper spacing in the USB port, or just cut a bit of Kaptan tape and lay it across the component side to act as insulation as I did for the trial fit in the photo.
Have fun, and BTW - THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!
