So many here are technically adept at modifying toughbooks and that I wanted to ask what is reasonable to be able to do if you had access to enhance a linux smartphone that exposed a usb interface that 3rd party shells could be added to? The company is Jolla and more information about their phone is found here. Jolla Phone - The Other Half

(It reminds me of what could have been done with the bay drive in toughbooks if they encouraged more than just hard drives and batteries and line testers.)

That could turn out to be really good or really evil......

I need to eat...my brain is going to the weird place..

I started hacking cell phones back with the V600 and V635 and later the Razr. I was one of the first ones to have video on my Razr before it was added by the factory. But that was Hex Editing and you could play around with different settings to see what it did.

Anything can be hacked for additional uses... You just need to have the will, the tools and the dedication to do it. You may want to go over to HowardForums.com and post there and/or read up what people are doing with this phone.

Thanks for the feedback. I partly wanted to let the amazing guys at this forum be aware of the device and partly wanted to see how hard a flux capacitor would be to install on a a phone.

I was one of the first members who started modding Motorola E398. My MP was the "StarterXP" one :) I was one of the first members in the subforum of motomodders. Then (when motomodders died) I started the motohell forum (now closed). Ah the old motomodding times...
