Toughbook,
You take over my TB business and you can watch sheep all day. Don't worry 'bout keeping track of profits...there ain't any.
As far as yummy goes I have a dozen very satisfied customers. VERY.
This is not like any "store bought lamb" that you ever tasted.
I am sad to say that one of the spotted lambs is no longer with us. He was "never quite right". The mother knew it and the other older lambs did to. They picked on him. I think the main cause of his demise may have been an internal injury. Sometimes sheep just die for the fun of it. That's the sad part. The joy is the pastoral bit, you have to be calm or the sheep sense it.
The secret to moving the flock is a pocket full of Wheat Thins or Triscuits. They mug you. What hogs!
There is NO doubt that one buck (ram) was responsible. The mother is 1/4 Barbados 3/4 Dorper. Considered a hair sheep. Running in the brush they do not need shearing. I have spent several periods of time trying to figure out the genetics part. I got a D in the class.
Jeff..love the motherly "chuckle" of the ewes with new lambs...
OT---Any pictures of the triplets yet?
