Odd 'waking up from sleep mode' behaviour with CF31

My CF31 exhibited a strange behaviour today. When I opened the lid to bring it up out of sleep/standby mode, the screen would go blue, Win 10 status bar icons appear at the bottom right, and it would keep 'recycling' that behaviour with very occasional load of the background wallpaper image if it lasted long enough.

Only way to correct was to shut lid to make it go to sleep mode again, and pull the battery to force a 'hard' restart.

Anyone aware of such behaviour with their systems? It's the first time it's happened since I got the machine a couple of weeks ago.

As an aside, all my previous touchbooks would go to standby (Win Xp pro) with Fn-F7, or hibernate with Fn-F10, but the CF31 (Win 10 Pro) doesn't. How do I configure it for the same or similar keyboard shortcuts for standby or hibernate?

    Craig.

I never use sleep or hibernate. I disable them.
Years ago I had issues on waking from sleep or hibernation. Ever since then, I don't trust them.
I set the screen to shut off after 5 minutes and the HDD to shut off after 10-20 minutes.
SSD doesn't really matter that much.
