I thought I would start this thread, as I haven't seen one on here, I'm hoping it's not a taboo thing to do. While ebay is often a great place to find the hard to find stuff, there are many reputable dealers out there too (not people who will sell you stuff without real pictures, real warrantys of any kind, etc) like on the auction sites. And often, when you find the system you want, someone else wants it more, and outbids you in the last few seconds. I know there are programs out there to help with this, but I would rather have a dealer I can go to who can answer questions for me. I have found one dealer not too far from me who refurbs and sells several models of TB's, the 27, 28, 48, 72, as well as other equipment and parts. And provides a warranty on the purchase, as well as discounts on bulk (5+ units) purchases, as well as Military/Student discounts. Just as a preview, the cost for a Toughbook CF-28 is $299

The name of the place is called Bob Johnson's Computer Stuff, here is the URL to the site http://www.bobjohnson.com

If anyone else knows of retail (or online) dealers who deal either primarialy in or have a good selection of older toughbooks, I would love to see them.

fyi, on eBay it's not who bids last that wins...it who BIDS THE MOST that always wins an auction...you do not need software to bid for you. I snipe because it's fun and I enjoy the idea that someone out there is whining that those awful snipers always beat me...and then they are mad at me for daring to bid...if they had simply put in a higher proxy they would have won...

Otherwise nice find on the old toughbooks...they were/are AWESOME leetle beasties that will as a rule run Linux really well. Plus they have the kicker of the abilty to be kicked dwon the stairs and still work...
