Rob, I would wait until GOBI comes out with the card that handles the LTE mode. The majority or the wireless carriers are moving to it. My Verizon 4G gets me 15 to 20 D/L and 10 to 15 U/L speeds!
-

EHH! Not worried about it... I'll just swap the card out later... It's not like I can wait... I have an active account open right now that I only pay $51/month for taxes included. I signed up with SERO about 5 years ago and have kept the same grandfathered account
I do have UNLIMTED data too... not no stupid 5GB cap...

My fiance has a 4G phone! It's fast as hell! I am jealous of the speeeeed!

Additionally: I now have 2, YES 2 GPS receivers in my CF-31... the one that came with the laptop that is embedded and now the GOBI GPS lol... It's nuts! -

And so today I got a CF-30 with a fingerprint reader and I will take it out and put it in my CF-31
. It fits like a glove, but the cable will be longer than needed because of the different location of where the ribbon cable connects (Which I've circled in red)

I've attached pics, but have NOT installed it yet because I need the modified left handle base from Heartland first. This part from Heartland for the CF-30 is like $10

When I get if fully installed next week when I get the right parts from heartland, I'll post more pics

"SERO" ("Sprint Employee Referral Offer") is now Everything Plus℠ Referal Program.
You gotta have a friend with Sprint to get the necessary referral to be able to utilize this plan.
Guess I'll stick with my at&t Wireless Broadband account for the time being: the service market is too volatile to make a change right now.
      -

Back when I had it I just signed up (like 6.5 years ago)... I didn't need to know any special guy at Sprint... They changed it about 4 years ago to what it is now.
 -

Lemme know how that print reader works. Mine has one but I've never touched it. Prolly should... You can turn the thing off in BIOS if it goes wonky right?
 -

I don't think you can disable it in the BIOS... it's in teh security menu anyways... I wanna use it because I have about 10000000 passwords that would be easier to just use my fingerprint for

One more issue (am I seriously starting to sound like a broken record here?!?!?? I MEAN WT F?!?!?!? GAH!)
Sometimes when I turn the laptop on to resume from standby, the screen will stay BLACK! As in NO video display (even though I can type in the background etc etc). The way to fix it and get a display is to close the screen and re-open it... WHAT GIVES?
Is it just me or does this CF-31 have a LOT of problems?? I STILL love it! lol -

Dunno. Only issue I ever had with mine was once, when I swapped drives (I have the OE and a SSD), the first time I tried to calibrate the touchscreen it wouldn't let me. A reboot sorted that.
Edit: I set standby, hibernate, whatever, to "never" on any laptop. Never seen one that didn't eff up a lot when opening and closing the screen if that triggered the nap. -

yeah I always delete the hibersys file and disable standby/sleep. It never works right or at least I have never had any luck on the multiple desktops/laptops I own. so no it ain't your Cf-31

It works great on all my CF-29s with OEM load WinXPPro.
      -

I've had it work a couple of time in XP but in Win 7 it's a crapshoot on some it works perfect on others it doesn't no rhyme or reason
. So I just save myself the headache, plus I always want it off for security reasons if I am not using it.

Thanks for giving yet another reason to not switch to "Windows Seventh Attempt."
      -

I think you guys need to reread my post... lol I never said ANYTHING about it going to sleep when I closed the lid. I DO have all the options set to NEVER and when I close the lid it does NOT go to sleep. As I said: I hit the power button once to put it to sleep ("what does the power button do?" option)
Ohh well

Thanks -

I never use hibernate either. It always did bad things.
Close lid =sleep... Power button=off. -

Have you used the master re-set program. (I made up the name)
Pull the AC
Pull the Battery
Hold the on switch on for a few seconds. Repeat.
Go into bios on ac and set to defaults.
It lets the confused electrics get out.
I think I have the order right, this is one of Alex's remedies and someone else I don't remember. -

Jeff, I'll try this! Thanks man

And so I installed the FP Reader today in my CF-31!

Works great with protector suite 2009!

Now, where to get protector suite 2011???

You do realize that this is for 2009... when you click on the "Protector Suite 2011" it brings you to a page to download 2009... which I already have.
On a side note: Do I really need 2011?? 2009 seems to work fine... -

I know. I don't write the HTML; only link it. <snicker>

Apparently, there is no "Protector Suite 2011."

FAIL!
 Ohh well
