How do I get the embedded keyboard back on my win7 login screen?

I don't remember if it was oem images or generic w7 with driver packages installed, but I *do* remember having done a fresh install on some of my toughbooks and when presented with the logon screen, the keyboard would be embedded the lower portion of the screen. Not the ease of access/accessibility/change accounts floating style keyboard, but a black, poorly 3d stylized keyboard that consumed less than the lower 1/2 of the screen. I also don't recall which action I took to make it disappear, but I know undoing that action didn't bring it back Perhaps I turned off something in tablet settings, maybe? But I've given tablet settings a good going over and can't find anything relevant.

How do I get the *embeded login keyboard* back?
I don't' want to enable EOA keyboard and apply to the login screen as then that keyboard is on my desktop after login. I know it's not a huge inconvenience to either "change users" on the login screen to get the floating keyboard, or EOA and just close the keyboard once logged on, but dern it I want what I can't figure out how to get back.

    Thanks, y'all!

To open the On- Screen Keyboard
Go to Start , then select Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard, and turn on the toggle under Use the On- Screen Keyboard. A keyboard that can be used to move around the screen and enter text will appear on the screen. The keyboard will remain on the screen until you close it.

Otherwise to use the Panasonic one, I think you just reinstall it???? Not 100% on that.

    Found this on another forum
win 8.1 pro on panasonic toughpad fz-g1 tablets

Running a program and when selecting a field that needs entry the keyboard is not popping up.

The user must manually click a keyboard option in the bottom right hand corner.

Is there an app that would fix that since I can't seem to find a setting in windows for it?

The only time the keyboard auto pops is when selecting a to type a password when you login as a user. IE or any other app the keyboard does not auto pop.

OK. Now that I read your entire post I can give a more accurate answer.
We worked with a similar issue on several versions of Linux. The embedded keyboard is from the BIOS. Unless you know the address and can write a program to access it, I think you are out of luck on that. We had to give up.

I am not sure the one you want is the BIOS version. I think that is a basic Windows one as it is on Windows login page. The Panasonic embedded one comes up if you have a BIOS password.

    Try tweaking the Windows theme.

I wanted to have the BIOS keyboard all the time but that was above my pay grade to accomplish.
