I bought a CF-28 about 18 months ago. Things were going well until about 2-3 weeks after I bought it. I started randomly getting a blue screen and it would reboot. Sometimes it would reboot fine other times I would get a "No Operating System Found." I shelved the unit for about a year and forgot about it. I got it out the other day. I formatted and did a surface scan of the HDD and reinstalled the OS. It booted find but then I started getting the same things. I think that the HDD is intermitantly getting disconnected.(Shorting out) I was thinking of buying a new caddy but I wanted to run this buy the experts. Has anyone else heard of this issue? Any solutions? I don't want to start throwing good money after bad.
I was also thinking of just buying a 64gb PCMCIA drive instead of replacing the drive caddy. Can a CF-28 boot from a PCMCIA slot. In the BIOS that is not one of the options. If I upgraded the BIOS would that change?
Thanks you all rock. At least if you help me you do![]()
