CF-29. Standard battery only lasts about an hour after refresh.

Better to get new regular regular [or rebuilt] battery, or keep the bad one and get media bay battery?

    Any suggestions?

Better to do both... remember that if you don't replace the main battery and just get a multimedia battery, that you will still have the shorter life on the 2nd one as windows use's all the power from that THEN it draws from the main battery. From my personal experience the 2nd is nowhere NEAR as good as the main one.

A NEW (not rebuilt) battery would be best, as that would provide more power in and of itself than 1 crappy primary and 1 new 2ndary COMBINED.

Hope that clears it up a little :)

EDITED FOR REVERSED BATTERY DRAW :p

Yep get a better battery (primary) first; IMHO.

For info, my 29 draws down the media bay battery then starts on the main battery.

Thats correct!!! sorry I reversed it lol!! It's been about 3 years since I worked on a CF-29 and I don't have the extra battery on my CF-30.

I would look for a yellow tab battery when it is time. They seem to last much longer than the blue tabs.

The blue tab batteries are 6.6ah and the yellow tabs are 7.65ah

Look for this part number when you go shopping it is the yellow tab:

    CF-VZSU29A

The blue tab batteries are : CF-VZSU29 pretty much the same part number just missing the A at the end.

Don't discount the blue tabbed ones either. My mk4 came with a blue tab... after battery recalibration, PC Info read 7.5Ah. Bought a second mk2, also blue tab, and after battery recalibration read 7.3Ah.
