    Has anyone here tried this in thier CF-28? If not I will download thier demo software and give it a try. http://www.oziexplorer.com/

    seems similar to some other ones i have tried...........

    Well, I played around with it a bit and it doesn't recognize the onboard gps. Back to searching for another program.

    For the CF-28 Brilliant to use for 4WD. Just make sure to take paper hardcopy with you to see the open view 1:25000 maps.

    But outback use go for oziexplorer.

    I use OziExplorer in my Jeep with my CF-28. I have it rigged up with the touchscreen and my external GARMIN GPS. I think it works great, and there are a lot of add-ons that help out as well. In my opinion, it works really well in conjunction with a vector based mapp system like Delorme when you need turn by turn navigation on-road, but want something to handle the offroad situations like topographic maps etc.

    If you happen to live near the 4 corners area, there is a guy who does a lot of offroading who has taken all the USGS topo maps and converted them for use by Ozi, and will sell you the CD's he has cooked up. The import great, and the moving map feature over the topos is just great!
