    Has anyone used the PDRC system with the DC power adapter model number DCPR-18x made by ledco. It is also know as a TR7516 made by Ault Inc. I have one that came with a CF-VDL02 it will not power the unit. I get two orange lights that flash on and then the adapter has a green light that goes from solid green to dim flashing. I have tested this unit every which way and on different 12 volt sources with no result. I can take my AC adapter from my CF 29 and get the CF-VDL02 unit to work perfect any suggestions I am stumped. :confused:

    The Ault dc adapter should work fine
    It's rated to output 16.2vdc @4.63 amps
    Try hooking up you toughbook to the dc adapter

    It works great on the CF-29 but I still get the flashing orange lights when I use it on the CF-VDL02 and the green light flashes on the DC adpater.
    Does the CF-VDL02 take more juice than the CF29?

    More current if the battery needs charging

    Lind and L&H make higher current dc supplies , but I have installed that panel using the Ault dc adapter

    Is there enough 12v power on the input , try running the engine , and turn the brightness down on the display

    The CF-VDL01 manual calls for 2.6amps/40 watts. I believe, I'd have to look, that the VDL02 has one extra CCFL tube and might have slightly higher requirements but, with the possible exception of the Lind CF-07 power supply, any Lind DC adapter should power the display just fine. I would go with Alex's suggestion and check your input voltage. These displays put out a lot of light and its probably not pertinent to test your adapter against a laptop which has a battery and probably lower power requirements if you remove the need to charge the battery as well as power the computer. I have never had a problem running either of the displays with any but the smallest Lind adapter. I have a CF-07 Lind power supply, I'll try to remember to try to power up a CF-VDL02 with it.

    Tomcat Thanks for the info. I have tried my TR7516 attached to the CF-VDL02 with the engine running and still no joy even with the back light down. I will run some more test.

    Cap thanks for the info I was looking at the Lind 1540 series. It appears to have the same connectors as the TR7516.

    Could the DC connector on the VDL02 be worn and not make enough contact? I ask this because it appears to be loose fit. I have had great luck so far using the CF 29 AC adapter and unit works as advertivsed. I just don't have that long of extension cord for trips over 200'. :)

    If by loose fit you mean the whole jack moves a bit , thats normal for these

    The easiest thing is to upgrade to a larger dc supply , and you still have the other to run or charge other Toughbooks

    @Orion90,
    Let me know if you need a Lind power supply, I can usually sell you one for less than eBay, and mine are new.
