    Hello

I have a Panasonic CF-19 MK1 with a quite strange problem. The computer is equipped with a touchsreen / digitizer screen. The problem is that the screen seems to work, I can move the cursor with the pen or a finger, but I can just click one time: so basically when I start the computer, I am able to click on the Start menu one time. After that, I can move the cursor, but I can not click any more? I have actually two computers, the other is working perfectly, and I have tried to swap the harddrives, but the problem occurs as well with the harddrive which is working on the other computer.

One time I managed to get the touchscreen work. I ran the calibration tool, and the computer worked. After two restarts, the computer lost its settings for the calibration, and stopped working again: only one click, after that I can only move the mouse. An other thing that I wonder about is that if I remove the driver, Windows installs a driver automatically when I restart the computer, and again with the same problem. Then I run the Fujitsu touchpanel driver, but there is no difference in functionality. If I just remove the driver without restarting, I can not install the driver, because it tells that the drivers is not supported?

The computer has Windows XP SP2, and the mouse driver I try to install is tscreen_19_1_d050736.exe.

Thankful for any help! Very annoying problem, I struggled four hours yesterday without any success!

Your CF-19 is not a dual screen but a touchscreen only. I checked the driver you are using for the touchscreen and that is the right one ( German - tscreen_19_1_d050736.exe ) so the Touch Pad should be mouse_19_1_d060584.exe . Is the working 19 the same model as the one you are having the trouble with ?

What bios version are you using? XP requires XP bios. Later on if you switch to W7 you must try to find a Vista bios.

I am having a similar problem on two identical CF-19CHGCXBM laptops. Both are running Win XP SP2 with BIOS V1.00L13 / EC V1.00L11. I have tried installing the stated drivers from above in this thread as well as every other driver Panasonic has referenced all with no luck. I get absolutely nothing from the touchscreen. I am at a loss...

jmiele4...Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook Forum

If you guys are new to Toughbooks then the best thing you guys can do is pickup the Panasonic Restore disk for your model (CF-19MK1) . These restore disk are a image of the harddrive when it left the Toughbook factory...XP and all the drivers loaded in about 40 minutes. When you try to load drivers by hand on the 19 you must follow a certain order, if you don't you will be wasting a lot of your time for nothing.
Check out the picture below, this is what you are looking for. If it does not look like that , do not buy it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM DRIVER DISK THAT ARE SOLD ON THE AUCTION SITES

Hello, I still have not managed to get it work (well, actually I have not tried the last time very much)
The problem is still that the touchscreen responds in a very strange manner - sometimes it works very well, and I am even able to calibrate it. When I proceed in Fujitsu Touchpanel Calibration Utility, the last points are very easy to click on with the pen. But then, after I save, the pen (or finger) works well for a few click, and then the problems are there again: inaccuracy, problems with clicking and especially with double clicking.

Actually, I have now two CF-19 computers, both with the same problem. Sometimes they work, but then they lack working again. Both are model CF-19CHB18BE, BIOS V1.00L13, Windows XP PRO SP2. These computers are quipped with both digitizer and ability to click with fingers.

An other strange issue with these computer are that when I try to remove the touchscreen drivers, it comes back every time as it has been.

If I now install Windows XP Pro once again, in which order should I install the drivers?

    Best Regards, Mikael

Your touchscreens are shot.... It makes no difference how you install the drivers.

Sorry to be so blunt... But these are the facts.

Hello, okay. What might be the problem with the screens? Because they are working sometimes, could it be easy to fix, or must the entire touchscreen be replaced? If the touchscreen must be replaced, is it possible to replace it with a touchscreen from a Panasonic CF-18 MK1?

I just fixed your last post so other member will not get confused, digitizer screen and touchscreen are different. You have a touchscreen in your MK1. The big problem with the 19MK1 is the touchscreen is known to go bad, why is a good question but we see less of the MK2 and up with this problem. I have two 19's just like yours that have the same problem and the best way to fix it is replace the touchscreen. They cost about $100-$125 to replace which is why I never fixed mine.

I see. But can I replace the digitizer with one from a Panasonic CF-18 MK1? I know that digitizer and touchscreen are different, but these computers work both with fingers and with pen - so I believe that this is a touchscreen then?

As far as I know ...yes but the 18 has the same problem as the 19...known to have bad touchscreens

Yes, if you can use your fingers and with pen then it is a touchscreen...a digitizer screen you can not use your finger.
