Okay, I had a customer call me and say that they just purchased a cf-19 off the bay and with their current setup they could not use windows xp. So, I upgraded it to Win 7 and used all the helpful advice on this webpage, which was awesome FYI. All drivers are installed and EVERYTHING looks to be working, Except..... When I flip the screen over to go into tablet mode, it turns off the backlight and can not be used.
I have tried every trick i know in the book, easiest of which was setting when I close lid "do nothing".. No help there. I have changed the settings in the bios to be internal lcd and external monitor just to see if any help there.

Model is: CF-19FJL32AM... Not certain which model that correlates with, so maybe some help there... I am just at my whits end on this darn computer.. The win 7 migration wasn't bad at all, but i've about 6 hours logged in solving this issue and can't with good faith charge these people for all of this wasted time on an issue that shouldn't even be happening..

Either way, I would appreciate any/all help you guys can lend.
    thanks again,
    Corey P

Also, it is just the backlight going off, as I can still see the desktop if I look in the correct light, don't know if that helps at all..

Sounds like a hardware issue. May be a short in the power cable running through the display's swivel connector. It's a bit of work to remove the display, disassemble the swivel, and patch or replace the wires. So first try removing the bottom and gently poking around the wiring as you swivel the display to make sure it's a wiring issue.

I thought the same at first but if i flip it all the way down to where it touches keyboard it goes out. If i lift up just a bit it comes on.. I didnt know if it had a sensor in swivel somewhere. I will check wiring tomorrow, any other ideas out there..thx agsin

There are two possibilities as the two gentlemen(springfield and Sadlmkr) mentioned above. Either the wiring of one or two wire are running open due to pressure when it lock down on tablet mode. Second, there is a posibility that the magnet on the LCD bezel where not on the original location. Just a wild guess who knows who work on it before you've got it.

I will check on the magnet thing as I am starting to think that might be more the issue.. I do not have a clue if someone worked on it before me. I would assume it has been repaired or "refurbed" and I would have no idea as to what they have done to it. I'll do a little digging and see what I can come up with. I am betting its magnetic because if I raise the screen up just 1/4" it will come back on..
thanks for all the help and anything else feel free to chime in...
