I've got a CF-25. I believe it's a MK2, because it's a 120mhz processor the last time I checked. I just purchased a 64 meg chip of ram, so now when it boots it ticks up to 96gigs or so.
I'm curious to try windows 98se and/or a copy of XP or XP lite on the machine. Unfortunately during the install of Windows XP, it keeps bluescreening with a 0x7b error.
I'm wondering if I need to hit F6 to load hard drive drivers for this? Or maybe do I need to upgrade the BIOS to make this go away? I was unable to load hard drive drivers of any sort from anywhere on the internet.
Unfortunately with the official CF-25 thread, most of the links inside with the drivers for this particular machine are dead. Does anyone have a full set of labelled drivers for this machine, for win98se and/or windows XP? If so could you PLEASE upload them somewhere and link them to be ASAP? I really want to use this machine in my jeep this summer as a MP3 player.
Which drivers are necessary for windows98, and which drivers do i need for xp? can someone please zip them all up and email them to me with some direction? or link me to a megaupload. a lot of the sites have the drivers but there are so many it's hard to understand which ones to use or which ones are necessary.
I did previously have windows 3.11 on here, but i've never been able to get the trumpet winsock or pcmcia working properly so I don't want to waste another minute getting win3.11 to work.
Or is there a good flavor or linux that would have all the drivers working already on install, that would pop onto this machine properly?
Thanks,
=)

I have one CF-25 myself. I have been slowly collecting accessories for it. Just need a cd door, drop in the compact flash to ide adapter and load something on it like DSL.
Unless you have modified the right files on that XP install the minimum specs needed checker will kick the install off. I have a XP cut down with N-LITE so much that it is a 86 MB ISO file. I do think I need to re do it as some of the needed networking is now missing.
I would look toward DSL dam small linux and maybe some older builds of puppy linux. There is also DSL-N. But I haven't got to the point to test is out yet.
