On 10.04 that didn't work for me. I found it at /usr/lib/xf86-input-evtouch/calibrate.sh but unfortunately it says that no evtouch capable screen was found. It seems like I'm not the only one with those problems.
Also to fix the video problem completely (video playback still hangs with i915.modeset=1) I upgraded to 2.6.34 in lucid. You can find the debs here: Index of /~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.34-lucid
I did install the evtouch package with no difference whatsoever. I'm assuming that because the calibration utility said that it couldn't detect the touchscreen something is up with the new evtouch driver if it used to work previously. It'll work on 9.10 and below but I was hoping I wouldn't have to downgrade just for a touchscreen.
This guy tried something similar but it looks to be a painful task.

Yeah, it might be better to ditch hal and try to add an xorg snippet. This link gave me some info on that: Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 Touch Screen - Page 14 I tried it with the same result as above (probably because evtouch isn't working for me)
I'll keep you "posted" when I discover more info.

I assume you tried this one from page 14? #206
The best of the best to you.
Jeff -
I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 and 12 hours later got it rolling. I did not use the calibrator as I had the numbers from evtouch.config to plug in. The session is described in a new post. Included is the tidbits I got from you all on the video problem.
Thank you.
Jeff
