Has anyone had any success with installing Win7 on a Y5?

To date, I have seen success on this forum with the following:

    Cf28
    cf29
    cf18
    cf19
    cf30

Keep in mind, not ALL functionality of each laptop was preserved. I know specifically for my MK1 CF19, that everything except the auto-screen rotation when you rotate the lid does not work, however, the button to rotate the image does work perfectly.

Any particular reason you expect this to be an issue? The last edition of the Y5 (Y5M) came with Vista installed from the factory, which isnt all that much of a leap from Win 7. And Windows 7 is being stuck on netbooks with far less power than the Y7. I wouldnt worry about it.

Also working perfect on my cf-74. Both x86 and x64(touchscreen calibration doesn't work properly x64 only). Thought I'd share.

Win 7 works perfectly on my Y4, so i dont see why your Y5 should pose a problem.

If I have lost functionally on my CF-29N (Mk5) I have not found it yet! ;)
