    ENERGY+ Batteries and Electronics Details

Has anyone found these before? It says they use Panasonic approved cells. They are the Energy+ brand. One was in my new CF 29, so I did a search. If you do a search for the part number, you can find them for about $130.00.
They make batteries for all sorts of different Toughbooks.

Not seen them before, I'm somewhat intrigued over this.

The cells in Toughbook batteries are manufactured by Panasonic in Japan - if they are using "Panasonic approved cells" in the batteries, where are they sourcing these?

And how much do the official Panasonic batteries sell for as spare parts from Panasonic (or "Heartlands"? - I'm not really sure how exactly the system works in America)?

I have never had any joy with Energy + batteries. Gork has a guy in Idaho or someplace who is said to make very good batteries. I would be very surprised to learn that Panasonic had "approved" any aftermarket supplier of Toughbook batteries.

I'm running three of the Idaho batteries. Two have Panasonic cells and one has Sanyo cells. Good stuff, very nice people. But this is really sparkwrite's guy and you can find out more by searching for some of his posts.

Say's Gork! as he passes the buck. :D

Do you mean you are running 3 Energy+ batteries? Or the Idaho batteries? Are they the same? How do you know what cells are inside?

    Thanks

Sorry 'bout that. I was unclear. I am using the Idaho batteries. I edited the post.

Had one Energy+ battery in CF-18. Bad quality, much worse than standadrd 6,6Ah. Do not buy :)

Yes. See sparkwrite message below. Between spark and I we're running 6 or 8 of them. I'm being careful trying not to seem as Steve's agent or something. They are good batteries.

I bought two Energy+ batteries for my CF-18 two years ago or so, and they've only died recently. They were never quite as good as the original part, holding maybe 3 or 4 hours of charge. But I got them on Ebay at some ludicrously low price ($8 I think!) so I was pretty happy...

I think they're referring to the cells themselves - that they are OEM Panasonic ones who have passed (or approved by) their quality control.

    Gork,

I looked into Battery Universe, and the three reviews here do not inspire confidence. I'm not doubting your or Sparkwrite's experience in the least, and I also know that anonymous reviews are the devil's playground. But.....

You are right in doubting my experience. I have little. How I got drug into this is beyond me.

I will answer one question I missed.
I know what the owner of the company told me in a 40 minute conversation re: batteries, mutual acquaintances and etc. I have not personally dismantled a battery to check. I take a man at his word until proven otherwise. Or words to that effect.

All I did was tell what my "experience" has been during a limited time (several months) with several batteries. The batteries I have in my possession are good. The end.
