If it has an oem gps there would be a large bump where the antenna is. The bump would be on the back of the screen on the upper right corner when it is open. Do a google search for CF-30 oem gps.

No mistaking the hump antenna that's for sure. But while on the subject where is it identified in Device Manager and how does one turn it off and on. I have an external USB GPS receiver mounted outside a vehicle that I would like to use in some areas and don't want interference from the built in unit.

The best way to turn it off is in the bios options, (F2 while booting)

The stock gps shows up as a com , in device manager
Note the com ports while the gps in enabled, then disable to find the com port # its using
The usb external gps uses com 4 normally if that com number is not in use btw

I'll mess around with your suggestions and see if I can make sense of it. Does not seem too hard to figure out but Murphy and I have been pals for a long time......... I might have to check back for the layman explanation but I wan't to try for a while. Thanks Alex I'll be back in a day or so begging or bragging....

Just my input on the OEM GPS....I have one in my CF-30 and the sensitivity is amazing. I get reception everywhere...in my car, in the house, even inside of all the solid metal government buildings I work in.

Unless you have a specific need or application there should really be no reason to use an external GPS.
