Well I have some more bad news on the toughbook-thin-light catagory.

A panasonic rep has just told me that the newer W/T4 series toughbook *will not* be getting a brighter screen.

Its really too bad because even excepting for the crappy keyboard (which their famous 2 inch space bar) a T or W series would be my absolute first choice of any laptop- panasonic have the best build and the best battery life. But alas no bright screen no sale.

I saw it too and it's much better than the T2 and W2, though it's still not great by comparison.

THats strange that you guys notice such a difference in screens between the t/W2 series and the new T/W4?

Brain, do you think that maybe the screens are simply better quality in terms of contrast/colors but still have the same brightness as the panasonic rep told me?
Are we talking barely over 100nits? I myself will be chosing between the T4 and the new X60s with the slightly brighter- "ultra-light" screen.

Lets see here are my predictions of their pluses and minues:

    Keyboard-- X60s-- 9 Toughbook- 4
    Build quality-- X60s -- 7 Toughbook- 9
    Screen-- X60s-- 7 Toughbook- 5
    Battery-- X60s --8.5 Toughbook- 9.5
    Weight-- Even

My thought is that the IBM's higher quality screen and far better keyboard combined with above average build quality will make it an easy choice. However if by some miricle the T4 does have an equal screen and they have dramatically improved the keyboard, then it will be really close.
    Thoughts?
