    Atunoa..Welcome to the forum.
Make sure that the inf driver(chipset/ mbo. driver is loaded on the system. It is very important coz without this some device will not function properly and also check your card bus if it is enable on the bios. Let us know, then.

    atunoa,
I think the four usb "racine" are your card. Did you check that they have drivers installed? I have a LinkSYS USB PCMCIA card which I have never been able to keep running in the CF-27s and 28s I use at work. I'm not sure where the Intel chipset driver goes when you install it, I never looked. I do know that the driver sites tell you to install them first on a reload.

I believe the 'racine' entries are the Root hubs, I have a virtually identical setup on my CF-29 from the built-in ports:
Three USB controllers, one USB2 controller and four Roor hubs.

If your drivers are working for the add-in card, when you remove the card the drivers will go out of the device manager list.

Anything that does not change in the list will be for fixed parts of the machine.

Look for other sections of the device manager list that change when you plug in the card.

You could try a 'system restore' from Accessories -> System Tools, go back to a date before you installed any driver, then try only the VIA driver and not the one that came with the card.

capt.dogfish and rjenkins you have reason when i put the card in the Pmcia port, there is new usb controller who are automatically installed. Look at this picture ,made just after the insertion.

But nothing happen when i put the usb stick or mouse...

I taked a small vb script to remove all the old install off driver : USB_GenericDriverFix.vbs. And after i reinstall the via driver; and as you can see over the picture, it seems that the card is working... but not!!!

I think we are in the story of windows when i have win3.11 or 95 ;)

    I search in the bios : I have a CF-18KHHZBBM
    Bios V4.00L11
2360 hour not bad, isn't it?

I open the serial port who was on AUTO to put in ENABLE

    SERIAL PORT A
    IRA 3F8/IRQ4
    SERIAL PORT B
    IRA 2F8/IRQ3

I think there is no problem there....

    Sniff, what can i do???

Some USB devices require voltage to operate. Have you tried plugging in the cord you received with the card into the other USB port? A USB key should work without it. I would think the mouse would too... But somethings are picky about that.

This should be a plug and play action. You may have a card that is cheaply made (No offense, it happens) and will not work. I bought 12 of the double USB cards and found that some either didn't work at all or only one of the two USB ports would work.

It work very fine with a small voltage transformer with the cable furnished with this card. Thanks for help, and sorry to respond later, i was in Spain for a small trip to the pyrenees, with my first experience with wifi.

For people who find the driver for pcmcia 4 usb, you can find there : http://drivers.guidebuyers.com/download/B207_Driver.rar. Hope to help some people.

Great great this thoughbook. It's the only pc of the house; a litlle slow with this cf-18, i search a cf-19..; but our life at home is changing well without those noises from a classical pc. I can say more than this : buy a thoughbook!!!

Welcome to the forum, Atunoa. I have two of these cards (providing 2 USB, 1mini-USB & 1 Firewire port). Driver install is not necessary from Windows 2000 Pro SP4 onwards. Some external 2.5" HDD enclosures will only be detected as "USB mass storage" if the power extension cable is not used. Your problem *might* be a faulty card, so test it on another laptop if possible.
