I figured I would come back to this forum because last time I had a question it was answered in a matter of minutes.

I need to figure out how to change the integrated gps settings on my cf-19. I am using a mapping program to track trucks and plot calls at the fire department but the gps is only reloading every 2-3 minutes. At first we were worried about the gps and the web beowser not talking well to each other but they are communicating. It's just by the time the gps refreshes twice we are there and haven't really tracked anything.

I have looked up settings and it's says to go to the communications setting Under accessories but when I go there no communications option is there. I have also did a search for communications with no luck.

Someone please help as I am trying to make this live on our trucks in the near future.

If your gps is actually only updating every several minutes, then the the antenna or gps engine has a problem or you aren't getting proper signal. The gps setting can't be changed, it's going to stream data constantly. It's up to your software to refresh the data at what ever interval you tell it to.

Ok, so if i am using a system that gives you a link in an email and then when that link is clicked on, it takes you to google maps and tracks you and other trucks, do you know how I would change the refresh rate so it request a signal more often. The problem I'm having with auto refresh is that every timeout refreshes it also makes the map disappear, not just the trucks.

    Any help would be great

    Thanks

Without looking at it directly (clicking the link myself) I can only guess. I don't know that you would want to paste the link in the open here, and you can't pm yet.

The setting you will need to adjust is either in your settings for google, or in the settings for the browser you are using, and/or your java settings.

Got the email. checked out the link.
I checked it out briefly on my phone, as well as on my tbook (which has integrated gps, as well).
I looked at the source of the web page, and to the best of my knowledge, your programmer is going to have to change a little bit of code in the php of the page in order for it to render correctly on a laptop. I'm not qualified to say that out loud, and certainly am not a web programmer....or programmer of any sort, for that matter; but from what I do know, and what I can see, it's in the php.

ANyone here good with php and gps related stuff????
