Hey everyone; yeah, it's really me; I AM still kickin'. Haven't been doing much since I moved to East Nowhere, TX from San Antonio; mostly raisin' the kids & hiding out from the Texas SUCK. Right now it's 98° with a heat index of 107°. The dogs are sticking to the sidewalk.
I've started working with APM & Naze driven multicopters; so the CF-19 and the CF-29 both stay in regular use. I occasionally still have to nuke a CISCO or update the firmware in digital signage, so I actually still keep the CF-19 in my tool bag. Not near as much of my onsite work here as was in San Antonio, though.
Anyways... not exactly living the "rugged life" anymore; so I guess I've just slipped away from this place since mom died. You guys were so good to me while I was going through that; I feel like a total heel for vaporizing that way. Please know I'm still humbled, and still thankful to all of you.
I finally had myself a little adventure today so I felt I had to come on here and share; I actually got my fat happy outside to do a little welding work on the Franken-Cruiser.
Despite my paranoid wet-towel abuse and blankets all over everything I had a little fire; a spark got inside the little cubby where the jack goes and ignited the bubble-mailer I had the jack wrapped up in to keep it from rattling around when I'd hit a bump. I had the garden hose on standby but got a few burns on my left hand; the real casualty was my Nokia 521 Windows Phone.
I dropped it in the trunk of the car where I'd been welding when I realized the fire was going on; after the fire was out I went back to work welding and I didn't realize it until after I was completely done. Talk about some hardcore screen burn!
My wee pocket beastie isn't going to take getting WELDED AT UNTIL ITS SCREEN SHATTERS as an excuse to give up, though; it still works exactly like it did when it was new, aside from my fingers snagging on every burn and crack, of course.
There's a little yellow burn in the LCD itself from that big slag-hole in the upper left corner; it's right on the edge of the screen, so as long as it continues to work otherwise, I think I'm just going to leave it there as a reminder to myself to be a little more careful with my phone.
I already have a brand-new touchscreen on its way from eBay for $18. But HEY; I just managed to re-up my I VOID WARRANTIES! street cred!![]()
As I've said before; another example of my favorite thing about this phone... it JUST PLAIN WORKS. I LOVE my Nokia Windows Phone!
The little ones are growing like weeds, the Franken-Cruiser has gotten some lovin' in the form of a new liftgate and some interior panels; one of which I'll now have to replace again to get rid of the car fire smell, but for now I'm gonna just live widdit.
