I was just wondering since I got a spare 16gb card to stick it in the slot with an ISO of the Panasonic recovery disk and use it in an emergency would that work?

Are you talking about SDHC? (Not SHDC)...

This is the Secure Digital card.... If that is what I think you are thinking about.

I'd say no.... I don't think there is a boot option for it.

What do you need to do? Or are you just playing and experimenting.

It might work as it is all on one dvd
All older recovery disks span over several cds and you cannot do it with them
The question is if you can boot to where the image is
Commercial recovery software might be even better as it would restore everything

yeah I have acronis and norton. I was also thinking of one of those images. the only thing I can think is acronis boot disk and looking for the file on the card, but that kinda defeats the point of only doing it off the card reader alone.

I'm curious if this will work. None of my computers will support a boot off an SD card reader.

It wouldnt boot to the ISO if it could boot off the card. You would need to unpack the ISO and put the files on the card. Is there an option to boot to a thumb drive? You could just use one of those. And if its a multi disk restore you can put all the files from all the cds and when it asks for the next disk just click or hit enter and it should pick it up.

Correct, you need to unpack the iso image

Incorrect, we have tried in the past to put three or four restore cd's on a single dvd for easy installation
I will not work combined on a singe dvd

Ron tried about a year ago and reported to me that is was not possible
All the newer models have the restore image on a single dvd now, so I never experimented with it myself
It would be handy to condense 4 cd’s to a single dvd
