I need to replace the DC plug on the power supply for my CF18... It looks like an EIAJ connector but none of the 5 sizes I could find match... (it does not have a center pin, and all the hollow EIAJ plugs are too small...)

Does anyone know what kind of plug is used for a CF18?

Hi! your best bet is to go to your nearest radioshack, bring the unit and you find a match on that.

Been there (two different radio hacks) and no joy.

It looks like some kind of special EIAJ connector with two retention rings instead of one.

I know someone had to have replaced one before... what kind of plug is it?

If you could find an IBM adaptor like for t30 its a match plug even the other series. I have an spare adaptor for cf-18 which is an ibm adaptor.

I don't know the part# of that plug too.

I've got a 16V 4.5A Thinkpad power supply that works. Found it on ebay the seller listed it as suitable for a replacement with the standard Toughbook power supply part number in the text of the listing.

I have got a generic 12V power supply which came with a plug that works - it has a 90 degree bend and does not push right in - but it works.....

There is a centre pin in the laptop socket.
