    Hi!
I've recently bought a CF-18k, its a touchscreen version. I've installed XP Pro, since it didn't come with recovery disks. Well, I've also insalled all the drivers from Panasonic site, but I think my keyboard driver is screwed or something. It has the famous problem of the SHIFT key being stuck, and problen with caps lock. I ve reinstalled XP like 3 times, but the problem persists. as far as i know, is because I'm installing a wrong keyboard driver, but actually, I can't find the right one. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I would check the connection on the keyboard
It may be loose or misaligned
Hit F2 go into bios on boot then try typing using the faulty keyboard
If everything works as it should there, then it’s a windows driver problem
I don’t think so though, it might even be a faulty keyboard.
Did it work ok before the reinstall of windows ?

Ahmmm I doubt it's a hardware problem, because I have found a trick: I keep pressed the shift button while pressing the shift button in the Software Keyboard, and it starts working almost normal, only few buttons don't work with shift pressed. And it worked strangely since the day I bought it. It costed me like 400, because it didn't had any drivers or OS.

I'm going to do that F2 thing, and come back to tell you what happened.
and also, how can I check the connection??? I've never opened a notebook or a pc :/
Do ihave to, like, dissamble it? excuse e but I don't have any idea, hahaha. THANKS!

Ahmmm apparently, in that BIOS screen, my function keys doesnt work neither, but in Windows they work normally. So, must it be a connection problem?? I highly doubt its hardware, because it actually detects every key. Maybe I should connect and reconnect the plug, or something. Thanks in advance.

As I said I think its hardware or a bad connection
If you have problems in the bios that would confirm that thought

If you are careful you can remove the 4 screws that holds the keyboard down at the back of the keyboard ,and gently lift the keyboard up ,starting from the back , you have to put a flat wide screwdriver under and gently work your way to the front as the keyboard has double sided tape underneath , and small catches on the sides and front.
There is a cover under that has 3 screws, remove it and check the alignment of the flat keyboard cable.

The connector latch is very easily damaged so only consider doing this if you are conformable with your own skills .

If not find someone that has the skills !!

Hi! Well, apparently, it isn't a hardware problem, a friend of mine helped me opening this thing. I have read forums about this Shift problem I am having, and in most of the cases, it's because an incorrect driver was installed. So I wonder if any of you guys could send me the sys files kbdclass.sys and i8042prt.sys from c://windows/system32/drivers/. Obviously, I'd like to have these files from a CF-18 owner. Thanks a lot!
