Here's a another shot across Capt's Starboard bow, a reason for Mnem to make sound of jet engine ready to explode, and dBi to be giganterously unamused at the chicanery and ineptitude of eBay Toughbook sales.

    Item as advertised:
    http://tinyurl.com/57krqr
Received item, looking hard for that "wireless" aspect of what I'd alledgedly purchased:
    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=28ltfe1&s=3

Mistake by Seller? Maybe. Simple enough to send the wrong item. It's also simple enough to claim an item is something it isn't for sellers to cough up an extra 25-50 bucks.

I've emailed them through eBay, and left a message at each phone number listed on eBay page - done within an hour of receiving the item. I'll post the results for the forum to see how, at least, they handle their own errors.

Oh, and for Toughbook. Please use this in your next eBay "Ultimate" TB sale to again illustrate eBay what you see vs what you get. For commission on the sale, I'll PM you my Paypal account.

I was going to say that you got a heck of a deal... Even though it is a 600Mhz.... But then you didn't get the wireless.

Was the RIM board intact? If so... You still got a good deal as long as the screen is in good condition.

On a side note.... Who's the hot blonde on the "next" button? (Please don't say your wife....)

    She's cute!

Item I received was a CF-28MCFAZEM... so no RIM board, even originally. I've escalated the issue with Paypal, waiting for a response, before filing a claim.
Don't know the girl in the pic, so only response I can suggest to interested parties is... Good Hunting, Red Baron! :p

If you're onsite, I can imagine it'd be different. As yet, they've not responded to the phone calls, emails, or Paypal escalation. Maybe they'll be different in person. Heck... ya might luck out and get the item pictured in my auction!!

HD and DVD are there, but untested. I bought this for my first wireless toughbook. The fact that the rest of the item is as described is secondary because delving into the OEM wireless setup was my 1st intent.
The fact that "Power Sellers" have good ratings in spite of selling crap items amazes me.

They may. Take the time to bid, take pictures, and post your experience. Isn't that the value of a forum? Unless, of course, you'd like to view others misfortune and belittle it.

Haha.. here's my take on the situation. Intechra is an enormous warehouse of off-lease electronics of every conceivable make and model. They deal in mass quantities of this stuff. I think it would be easy for a mistake like this to happen in such a context. I think they made an honest mistake, albeit one that should have been corrected. To some extent my experience was similar.. The lot I bought was not exactly what I was expecting to get. I was able to negotiate an adjustment on the spot because of this, to both parties mutual satisfaction. If I had completed the deal through the mail, I probably would have been less satisfied. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to buying from them again.

Pappy, if Gravitar's answer is different, I'll defer to him.

Gravitar's offer to help was first, comendable. By following through and raising the issue, Gravitar earned my respect. The salesman with whom he dealt is also the eBay contact for the company. Gravitar reported back the following:

"For the most part he seems like a nice guy, but when I mentioned your problem he wasn't particularly apologetic."

Thus far, the rep hasn't responded to my requests to rectify the situation. Judging by the volume of their business, one transaction is just a number.

At the end of the day, the issue at hand is about an antenna, cables, an outdated wifi adapter, etc. It's hardly the first or worst example of an poorly executed eBay sale. I did and do feel that posting eBay experiences (both good and bad) is helpful to forum members. Members can disagree about opinions, but experience isn't negotiable. In response to your question, my experience with the forum member, Gravitar, was the net positive of the event.

Hi! to all guys here on the forum, based on my experience on ebay as much as posible do not bid or buy an item to those seller who has a huge item specially a company or corp regardless of feedback. I only do business for those individual who has listed an item personally. I had an experienced that till now i don't want to forget. I lost the item and the money. About the paypaless, its useless. Keep it on mind.
