My neighbor has one of the Pantech devices he uses in a CF-51LL.

After 13 minute and a few seconds the device locks up. Also it keeps the operator from shutting down the machine normally. The white square stays in the lower right corner. I looked in device manager so it overlayed that onto the Pantech menu.

What's going on here? I thought the device might be interacting with suspend or something. He says it works fine on CF-28 and several other units.

We tried it on my LL with the same result.

CF-51RCLDFBM x 2. Switched ram out by the way. Used two different installs of Xpp. Looked for something that allowed this device to shut off to save power. No joy there.

    So....
    Driver?
    Interaction with video card?
    Why just CF-51?

Has anyone else used one of these? Pantech support said they never heard of a similar issue.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

It sounds like the modem driver and the video driver are having problems getting along.. Why just the 51? Do to different drivers/graphics chip in the different models?

Check the event and system logs in Administration Tools (in Control panel). They may give a clue as to the problem.
