Hello TB Forum, as you can see I am a rookie here but have been a long time lurker since my Dad handed me down a few TBs last September.

I desperately need to upgrade the hard drive in at least one of my CF-29 TBs from 40GB, because frankly that doesn't cut it. Looking at a few other threads on here gave me an idea of what to look for.

So my question is, would this hard drive do me any good ( eBay Link)? I am a college student (synonymous with "thrifty", cheap, etc.) and didn't want to drop hundreds of dollars on a hard drive.

Any input is appreciated, thanks to all forum members for the valuable resources and tips you have supplied me over the last year or so.

Both Newegg and TigerDirect have specials on 2.5 HD's all the time. The customer service at both is very good and you have a way to return if something goes wrong. Pay close attention to the Hitachi/Samsung/Western Digital models. You probably want at least a 160GB and 5400 RPM. There are a few 7200 RPM models (IDE type), but they are hard to find. Good luck!

Yeah... A fair price and then he nails you with $12 shipping? (When it wuld cost $4.85 to ship it priority?)

I'd go to Zipzoomfly, Tiger Direct or Newegg and compare prices. Many of their drives cost a little more... But many ofer free shipping. Don't forget the RAM too!
