fixing to do a reinstall on this cf-19 adding a bigger ssd. I know there is a 64 bit version of Win 7. Where can I get it, Heartland? Does it come on a recovery DVD? I was thinking of installing 64 bit as it supports more than 4gb I only have the 32 bit Win 7 recovery dvd and XP dvd. I heard they came with make recovery disc option, but mine was a fresh install off of the recovery dvd when I bought it and I did not find the option anywhere.
That did not matter at the time, but I am trying to squeeze all I can now, bigger ssd, more ram and for that I need 64 bit. I looked on ebay and have only seen the dvds I already own no 64 bit version does it exist or was that only burnable from a factory install?

Some models/versions support 64-bit but I'm not sure if CF-19 Mk4 does. Look for the Panasonic utility called "Recovery Disk Creation Utility" Even with 32-bit installed, it may show you an option to make a 64-bit recovery DVD set. I know this works on CF-S10, CF-C2, and perhaps some newer models.

The CF-19MK4 did come with 64Bit or at least they have the drivers for it so they must have the restore disk for it. On my CF-52 and 53 the restore disk had 32 and 64Bit (1 DVD). You first install W7 and after it's done you go to Panasonic utility called "Recovery Disk Creation Utility" and pick which "bit" you want. Then you burn the one you want and then install it. You can only do this once so don't mess it up . If you do you will need to install the DVD again and start all over again...don't ask me how I know this :mad2:
You will need to call Heartland Services and ask them about the DVD...cost $35.00 . Does your W7 COA say 32Bit or 64Bit on it ?

Far as I know windows 7 COA is good for 32/64 bit. Only XP had the special 64 bit COA. (except Windows 7 starter edition, it's 32bit only)

yeah just looked and can find no such utility. this was from restore of the Panasonic disc. Win 7 Mk4. It says 32 bit on the disc. I assume for MK4s you actually need one that says 64 bit. Reading the manual it mentions the recovery disc option but i guess that is only on a factory fresh one. the recovery dvd does not add it.

If the manual mentions a 64 bit option, you should have that on yours unless someone already used it. Like Blair said the Recovery Disk Creation Utility can only be used once. But in my experience it will be there if you re-load from any Recovery DVD. You might try reloading from the OEM Recovery DVD onto a spare hard drive (32 bit) and then look for the Recovery Disk Creation Utility, and then use it to make a 64-bit Recovery DVD. I actually did this with an S10 that came with 32-bit to make it 64-bit.

This was from a restore of of the OEM Panasonic Windows 7 MK4 disc. Nothing, Nada I can find that says Recovery Option. The other OEM disc I have is for XP tablet I doubt that has it.

It would have been in the Panasonic programs on the Start menu. Seems like the 19 Mk4 Recover DVD was not setup like some of the newer ones. Sorry to give false hopes.

Yeah first place I checked. Here is another mystery it seems I have 2 different Recovery DVDs . I don't even remember how I got two, but check out the DFQ number on top they are different. Anybody have any insight on this. I am going to reinstall tomorrow and wondering which to use since I forgot which one I used originally. Did not realize I had another til this morning.

It looks like version 1 and 2 of the recovery discs. I would use version 2, V36. 11L12, as it should have updated drivers/programs on it, compared to the other disc. That is my take on it. :)

I was just looking at my restore disk that I got from heartlands for my CF-52/53 and on the disk it says contains 32bit software but it also had the 64 bit too but did not say that on the dvd so I bet one of the DVD'S that you have just might have them too...

I assume that is the utility for disc creation. I wonder why it was not loaded when I installed the recovery last time? another question would this crucial mem module fit
    CT102464BF1339 - 8GB, 204-pin SODIMM , DDR3 PC3-10600 from Crucial.com
trying to get 8 gigs without taking the back off, plus since this unit has a camera and according to Rob the camera is soldered into the second dimm module place. Either way I don't feel like mucking around in there right now. Simple weekend project might turn into a weeklong nightmare. :D

    I have their 1600Mhz CL11 version ( CT102464BF160B - 8GB, 204-pin SODIMM , DDR3 PC3-12800 from Crucial.com) on my C1mk2, so apart from max speed ratings, they should be the same. It currently runs at 1333mhz CL9.
When I tested it in my 19mk4, I did it without taking the back off, so it had 2GB (factory) + this 8GB module. It showed 10GB memory, booted, but ran into BSOD or smth really quick. That was expected, as the i5-540um as per ark.intel.com, cand only handle 8GB.
In your case, having only one RAM slot, you would not exceed the capacity. What I'm not sure about, is if it can handle 8GB from only one (high-density) RAM module.
