I have a CF-52HCMDZAM that I want to add internal WLAN and internal WWAN. Is there a whitelist on the BIOS of approved WLAN and WWAN cards? There appear to be antennas for the WLAN but is there even a board for the WWAN or would I have to buy that board and have it installed?

I agree on the whitelist for the wlan. I tried to upgrade my card and it would not work. I have a wwan card that I pulled from my mk2. It's at home. I will get details later. I may be willing to sell it.

My real question is check the model number. You may have an ex gov't model that the bios has wwan and wlan disabled. The problem then is to find a regular bios to reflash yours. It has been discussed here before. I can help with a mk2 bios.

Thanks for the help. Now I guess I need to open it up and see if the card is there. Has anyone tried a WWAN card with PCM voice to see if it works like it does with some other laptops to give GSM voice calling with the system sound card?

Thanks for all the information. It seems to have the board and the wiring for WWAN so I want to try a HUAWEI EM770 mini pci-e for voice calls as it seems to work with other laptops and the software is readily available. Has anyone used this modem in any toughbook?
