I have been using the Release Preview of Windows 8 with my Japanese J10. However, the touch pad never worked right because the utility program couldn't talk to the driver. I would always get an error on bootup.

I finally installed RTM today and was poking around. Lo and behold, I discovered Gigabit had a Windows 8 x64 driver for Synaptics ( Download Gigabyte P2542S Notebook Synaptics Touchpad Driver 16.1.8.11 for Windows 8 x64 Driver for Windows 8 x64 - Softpedia). I took the chance and downloaded it. Lo and behold, my touch pad and the circular gestures now work along with the Touch Pad Utility.

So if you've got one of the Panasonics that currently has the 15.2.20 Synaptics driver from September 2011, use the 16.1.8.11 driver at that link - it'll solve your issues when switching to Windows 8.
