    Hi,

I recently purchased a used toughbook CF-30 (MK2) including 4GB main memory. The seller sent me very quickly two 2GB modules, but unfortunately there is one module I can't get ti work. It is definitely not a problem of the toughbook itself, because the two 1GB modules are being recognized and you can even mix between 1GB/2GB. The two 1GB modules are 1GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555-12-E3 (DDR2-667MHz) and one of the 2GB is a 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400S-666-12-E3 (DDR2-800MHz), which is actually the one 2GB that is working (alone or together with a 1GB), the other 2GB is a 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300S-555-12-E3 (DDR2-667MHz) and doesn't work at all. Now my question, what is the fastest module I can use with the MK2, a PC2-5300S-555-12 or a PC2-6400S-666-12? Hope someone can help to clarify. Thanks in advance!! :D

welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook forum

You can use up to the 6400, mix or match them but the 6400 will only run at the 5300 speed...that is the limit of the motherboard chip set.
