    Hey boys,

Went through the forums and could not find any answers so hope I am not being redundant here.

Received this unit from a client CF-29CTKGZDM MK1 1.2Ghz without MINI PCI wifi card (is odd, since panasonic configurator shows this model include Wifi)

I saw several recommendations for Engenius, but I am too much of a penny pincher to buy that one and so I tried an Intel 2200BG and could not get it work !

    1) Am I doing something wrong with the installation of Intel 2200GB or
    2) What Intel MINI PCI card would work (does not use MINI PCI EXPRESS just to be clear) and not cost over $20... see told you I was penny pincher :)

    thanks in advance

Hi! It should work. Did you enable the wlan on the bios? Let us know.

Also, you may have to cover up a certain pin with clear nail polish or a tiny piece of scotch tape to bypass the switch... (That is what I had to do on my 29 when I wanted a better card than a 2200BG...) (And on my 30 as well for that matter lol)

In order to be recognized by the BIOS you would need to install the Intel 21003b 802.11b card. If you install anything else BIOS will not detect it and you will lose the centrino logo. any other card should still work in Windows as long as you have the correct drivers. Although some Intel cards are specific to the equipment they originally came out of and may not work in a toughbook unless you hack it as JB stated.

    Thanks for the feedback guys,

Ohlip: yes I made sure was it was enabled in the BIOS

JB007: Can you please be specific as to which pin I need to cover ? This would be of immense help ! and may keep me pulling out the rest of my hair..

Tough2go: So if I understand correctly I cannot install a new Intel G or N wireless card on this model without doing the hack ?

Thanks again for your time. I appreciate it.
