Anyone know if the cf-30 screen is compatible with the CF-31?

    Thanks

    yeah ...
and those '30 screens most likely have a bunch of hours on them and thus , the ccfls are dimming/shifting spectral output .
there is no way to *see* what-is-what unless you tear the backlight apart and have a calibrated eye-ball to gauge the condition of the lamps .
the other way is to connect the display to a '30 and fire it up .
a good way to see how much the lamps on a '30 have changed is to compare the display against a '31 .
the leds of a '31 will exhibit less dimming/shifting and be about 90% after about 20K hours .

yep , you can buy the ccfls and swap them out but it is not for the faint of heart .
and while you're at it , change the inverter .

turns out it was the touch panel that was smashed not the LCD. So what I did was heat gun out the touch from a cf30, removed the broken one from the CF-31 (heatgun) removed a few spacers on the bezel of the cf-31 and the CF-30 touch glass fit perfectly. Its not touch obviously but the cf-30 glass protects the cf-31 lcd now.
