    Hi
can anyone tell me, if we can get different coloured magnesium panels for the toughbook laptops? silver is good, but black would be very sexy.

The only Different panels that I know of are for the SBC 27 and some of the Lets Note series. Panasonic went with silver so they didnt absorb heat from the sun since most of these are passive heat transfer (Transfer heat through the casing of the laptop).

You can get any color you like, just pick the paint and apply it.
As I understand it the magnesium is already painted on these and not bare metal.

The magnesium covers on the CF-29 are anodized. I would advise against painting them (As I have numerous times) ESPECIALLY black as they absorb the sunlight and can lead to numerous problems including premature touchscreen failure.

EDIT: I would assume that the military toughbooks come in black to cut down on reflecting sunlight.... The military has a substantially larger budget than the rest of us! ;)
