I just opened mine up to change it and realized I don't know how to undo the ribbon lock. Is it up, to the side, etc. don't want to take a chance breaking it like the infamous cf-28 ones.

You should be able to pull the ears out on each side and slide it out... Either that or there is a brown snap lock on it.... I can't remember....

If it is like the CF-18, which I am sure it is.... You need to use your fingernail to pull up on each side of the latch and the ribbon cable will slide out.... When reinstalling... Make sure the latch bar is in the UP position, insert cable and press down evenly on the locking bar to lock the ribbon cable in place.

In every instance (and especially on those easily breakable CF-28 type connectors) I have found that, when in doubt, lightly and slowly just pull the ribbon cable out of the connector... Then you can see how it works when reinstalling. Just make sure you don't tear the cable in the process.

When working with those pesky CF-28 connectors that break easily... I ALWAYS pulled them out with the lock still locked down... Then I would lift it up when reinstalling and snap it back down. Since the lock is easier to move without the ribbon cable in there... It was just easier and you don't take the risk of breaking the lever.

The CF-19 doesn't have this though... Just pull up on each side evenly until it frees the cable.
