I have a CF-18 MK3 (CF-18HHAMBBM) with an older verizon card in it. It has the button and lights on the front left hand side of the computer to control the WWAN card. Is there anyway to swap the card out and utilize a new card, but also control it from the front buttons as well?

Well I have all those things inside my CF-29, except I have a PCMCIA GSM WLAN Card in mine, it is an older EDGE model. My unit did not have the sleds to mount internal WLAN, not that I could have used them with my improved aftermarket GPS.

I have never been inside a CF-18, perhaps one of our other members can help.

Yes it is possible to have all these on the same daughterboard but to change the wwan to newer technology on the same daughterboard will be difficult because it would have to be something that panasonic was offering at the time your 18 was mfg. The newer technology just did not exist back then. That said it could be possible to hack in a USB internal aircard, just depends on how tech savvy you are.

If you have an older type daughterbord, it means it is a propietary type connector not a pcie type. That daughterboard are equipt with bluetooth and Gps terminal. Therefore you can install all of those option but your WWAN still the older type. I am not quite sure if your WWAN has a REV A type. Try to look at it but I handed few of this type of daughterboard and all of them has a prop..tary type connector.

Yes it looks like the proprietary connector type. The aircard is on the top of the daughter board, and it looks like the bluetooth is on the bottom of the same daughter board.

The aircard only says Sierra Wireless SB555 3G, and when I look up the model number, it says it is the verizon version.
