Original venison? I didn't know Toughbooks ran on deer meat...

Yes.... There is! And it isn't secret.... Just log into the BIOS and select DEFAULT!
It's just that easy... and can solve a myriad of isues too!

Agrees with TB. Guys, he was asking how to reset the BIOS back to original, not how to bypass a BIOS password... DAMMIT, now you made me bring up the forbidden topic.... I HATE YOU DRAGON!!!
Simply hit F2 when booting up to access the bios. Go to the last tab and select the option to load default values, then save and exit. That is all there is to it. -

Or download the bios file from panasonic downloads
Have a usb floppy or a floppy drive as first boot device
Create a bootable floppy
And any additional floppys for the bios files
+boot and update

WHERE? That is the question.Typically they'll default to the install media; if that's not available, try looking in the root of the hard drive.
I don't know if Panasonic hosts an older versions of the BIOS for your model; you may need to find a user in this forum with your same model and beg them to make a copy of their BIOS BIN file for you to get that.

if you can't find anyone who has the BIN file or can't find it on your computer, I suppose you could reset the BIOS to default by unplugging the BIOS battery and discharging the residual power

He's trying to revert to an older BIOS version because the newest version for his model doesn't include support for his Serial Port; it's a known issue with CF-18s. Resetting to defaults won't bring that back.
