This is for a cf29 but i am sure it is for others as well. I was wondering if anybody had or is currently using this.

I've noticed these as well. They seem pretty thick, the case is already thick as it is. They look kinda neat though.
I figure the case doesn't need more protection, c'mon it's a Toughbook. I am sure if I purchased a new one I would think quite differently. -
All he is doing is buying the rubber stick on no slip you can get in Wallyworld that is used to go on trailer/RV steps, then cutting to fit. Cost about $10 and then just rim off what you do not want covered.
-
That is JUNK.... Just like the CD Caddys they make! Yes.... Curiosity was killing me. I thought it might be an off brand manufacturer or something.... Turns out the guy pays $35 for the ribbon cable and then cobbles some plastic parts together and it really looks like crap when you get it. I sent mine back yesterday as did the other guy who bought one.
-
I hope TB doesn't read the footnote to that ebay ad - he might have something bad to say about them!!
-
A clown who's peddling Toughbook bras he cobbles together from the backs of bathmats dares to talk smack about Rick?! I'm going to buy something from him just so I can give him negative feedback.
-
This guy takes a no slip mat and glues it to a Toughbook and now he's an expert? I do believe I hear the dogs of war chomping at the bit and will soon be unleashed...things are about to get very ugly! (And I for one cannot wait!) Oh look, here comes the dwagon now!

Competition is always a good thing in a free marketplace, but if you read the foot note in question, it is something akin to a Yugo dealer calling out Mercedes and BMW on quality and value issues. Frankly, the guy doesn't deserve the notoriety that this thread is giving him.
-
No matter where you go, there you are.
-
Silver Trooper is right he is not worthy of discussion in this forum.
Sorry for the confusion,
Keven -
Got it! I'll just edit my post into a bromide.
-
Are you talking about the HDD caddy discussed in THIS thread?

If so... then... I TOLD you it was a POS, just from looking at the pics.
Otherwise, carry on... but please, tell me who you're dissing so I can be in on the joke.

Don't want to disturb your conversation, but here's my solution for rubber guards which I made for my CF-29. I also added a stripe of the rubber to the handle an exchanged all phillips head screws with stainless steel torx head screws (much easier to work with, in my opinion). Sorry for the bad image quality.

Wow, that guy look like an exercise in craptastic. He's lucky some gullible fool paid nearly $600 for that heap. What a joke. I got my toughbook for very little money, and so far, Toughbook would be the only guy I would consider allowing to fool around with my laptop. My laptop was miles better than his for significantly less money. Go figure.

Actually, I kindof like that. It looks like it belongs there, not like it was an afterthought like the other one in question. I ESPECIALLY like the strip on the handle that ties it all together.
Proof that ideas are NOT enough; EXECUTION is everything.
Well done. +Rep 2 U.

Thanx mnem

Yeah Sonny way cool, looks very stock.
-
And its more rugged looking unit. Plus rep! to you, also.

Good job Sonny, what material did you use?
-
Sonny, I concur with the other gentlemen, it looks good and is quite unique! Good job!

Again, thanks a lot.
I used simple ripped rubber mat, 3mm (1/8") thick. For example, its normally used for laying out the drawers in "tool cars" (hard to translate for me, I mean the rolling cars in a shop where you store your tools in) that the tools wouldn't rattle or scratch the paint of the metal drawers.
This should be it:

It's pretty cheap, and you can cut it easily with a good scissors or a sharp knife. -

Exactly, I was thinking later that you also say "shopping carT", but still was unsure what term was right. Now I know, thanks!
-
Is it just for looks or does it actually protect the screen?
-
-
Cool Ill take two.
-
Like Azrial wrote ironically
, it doesn't add any protection to the TB. It only may protect my table from scratches when I turn it over to open the button plate.
But mainly it's just for the look.
