two different types of backllit keyboards - most common is the rubber style that has two ribbons on the back and will work on all 28's - the other is a "chicklet style" that is a full stroke backlit version of a standard keyboard. It requires the third ribbon and also needs an additional little circuit board back by the Coms battery - if you dont have this and the photo eye up at the top of the keyboard it will not illuminate. Many threads in this forum about preferences and pro/cons on these two keyboard types - The pro's can add if I am wrong but has been my observation from the few I have opened up - good luck

Thanks for the info
