Hot weather here, finally, and that was about the time by cf29 started hitting 180 degrees while streaming youtube. The weather cooled, but tb did not. Took the back off, smooshed the thermal pads a bit (thickening them at the center so as to increase contact), and now the temp never breaks 130. Isn't it nice when a remedy actually works?

It also helps to use a little silver or ceramic paste. But I kind of smoodge them back together too... either that or swap in new ones.

I have used the cputhermometer.com app to monitor the temps on my cf-29's, was wondering what program are you using to monitor yours. the program I use doesn't seem to change during use only when you shut down and then re boot is when I notice any change. thanks...............Driller

    Driller,

I like the Notebook Hardware Control the best. Simple, and displays cpu and hdd temps, among other things. You've got to hunt around a bit in the control panel to get the display in Farenheit, but a very nice little program. There may be others.

    Rick,

The pads are pretty new, but I don't think I smoodged them when I first installed them. In any case, for future reference, what ceramic/silver paste do you like? Thanks.

Guess I need to search for this remedy. Gotta dig up my OC paste I used on my quad core build and see what it is.
