Use dummy battery for your task.

I have used a CF-51, 52 and a 19 on just main power with no battery installed and it worked great

Battery is not necessary to run a laptop, my friend has 2 CF-31's and a CF-19Mk4 all minus batteries as they stay plugged in.

i have run all my panasonic laptops as well as others without batteries installed ... no ill effects other than loss of data if the power fails .
"dummy batteries" are available for certain types of laptops or come as part of demo/display units for portable power equipment .
yes , people have been known to steal batteries from those laptops (as well as power tools and such) that you see in walmart , home depot , lowes , best buy , etc .
some of those displays of automotive/marine batteries are just empty shells or thin plastic mock-ups of their real counterparts ...
can you imagine the lawsuits that would happen if some kid or adult managed to drop a real battery 3-4 feet onto their toes ? -
If the mains flicker, your work completely disappears.
Battery = peace of mind.toughasnails likes this. -
If I am just messing around and it will be on long term on the charger I usually pull the battery to keep it in better shape, no problems yet on any toughbook doing that.

Totally agree Paul but what if you are overcome with a desire to upgrade or something.....or send a letter to someone?
Will you remember to save periodically?
My power company is very touchy...over-voltage shuts down instantly to protect the system. (Off grid) -
Thanks for the info guys, if I'm doing any serious work then battery stays in, just looking / reading info then I'm not to bothered if the power goes off
Thanks again -
Just switch to high temperature mode and don't remove the battery. CF-19's battery has a very long life (years) and costs $20-40.
