    Subject: [toughbooks] Cheap GPS unit

Posted this in case its any use to anyone. I already got a few parts
    from this
place and their service, packing etc. is good. It should be small
    enough to
fit under the battery on a cf-28.

If anyone has details for the pinout on the cf-28 internal serial port
    could
    they post it.

    cheers

Modly has the pinouts I think.. Either that or he is still working on them. I think he is in the process of moving though so it will take him a while to get back in the game here.

That GPS looks a little bulky. I think (If you read through the GPS threads) that he found the perfect one.. .We just need to match it to a good antenna on the top of the LCD. He was working with some guy on the web to get a deal and a matched set I think.

He will be around here shortly and chime in I'll wager.

I'm still out in Los Angeles right now (My brother just moved out here), and I'll be up in Portland, Oregon tomorrow. I'll be back home on Tuesday night though, where all my goodies and test mule motherboard is and getting back to making something happen.

I must say though, that my toughbook is doing great out here. We used it the whole way out as a map, and I've used it to get us around town a bit. Lucky about that one, because some **** stick broke into my brother's friend's place that we are staying at, and stole his MacBook while we were out. If we weren't using it as a map, I'd be sans-laptop as well.

But I'll be back on task soon, just checking in with you guys. I'd be on more, but I'm having an impossible time cracking the neighbour's wep key... Have to go all the way over here to the Library.

still at least ur toughbook was safe,
if you caught him on time you could have smashed the toughbook on his head and showed him how tough it really his...............
what navigation software are you using????????
were yo getting the message/voice "signal lost"........
oh what wep crack are you using, i think bruteforce is one of the best to use for wep but even my self who loves all software havent gone through every single one yet.............

I'm using my USB globalsat receiver, and I'm using Microsoft Streets & Trips for the maps. Also, on my flight up to Portland, I held the receiver at the window and monitored my trip (Doing 564MPH at 32,000 feet), which was kinda neat.
