    Howto:

    First, gather your tools:
    1. Dust Free Industrial Clean Room. (If you do not have one, then go into your bathroom and run the shower on hot for 10 minutes *minimum* without the ventilation fan and keep the door closed. Don't worry about the moisture, your *Toughbook* can take it.)
    2. Canned Air
    3. Credit Card (new, preferably, as these have very flat, level edges.)
    4. Lens/Screen Cleaner
    5. Lens/Screen Cleaning Fluid

    Next:
    1. Open Screen Protector Package and examine contents. You should have one screen protector and some instructions.

    2. Take all your tools and your laptop and enter your *prepared* clean room. Close the door behind you. The correct humidity is when your bathroom feels like a sauna.

    3. Wash your hands with soap and water.

Repeat step 3 a few times because you want to minimize the amount of finger grease.

Note: Keep your shower running during the entire application process. You may become sweaty and uncomfortable but this is a small price to pay for a dust-free install.

    4. Spray screen with canned air to get rid of all loose dust.

    5. Clean any tenacious dust off with the lens brush, along with blasts of air to get rid of dust.

    6. Wait 1 minute and observe screen. If dust returns, repeat steps 4-6. You should not continue until the dust ceases to return to the screen after a minute or so. This is because you do NOT want dust falling on your screen while applying the screen protector!!

    7. Once dust is assuredly not on screen, then spray lens/screen safe cleaning fluid on the special lens cleaning cloth (not on the screen) and wipe any grease off the screen.

    8. Turn cloth over and very gently buff screen until the surface of the LCD appears fairly uniform. The condensation should appear uniform on the screen.

Important notes: Do not overdo steps 7-8.

The reason you remove all dust before wiping the screen is that any dust underneath the cloth may scratch the LCD during the wiping/buffing process!

    8. Take the screen protector and spray canned air to remove all dust from the outside of the protector.

    9. Once you are sure the screen protector is as free of dust as possible, spray canned air on your LCD again to get rid of any dust.

    10. Peel off an edge of the screen protector and place onto your LCD. Start with one side first! The Screen Patronus protector is cut perfectly square. If you align the side of the protector perfectly parallel with the edge bezel, then your protector will be installed correctly with no fears.

Important notes: Do not allow your skin to touch the underside of the screen protector. Also, when placing the screen protector onto the LCD, make sure that there are no air bubbles in the middle of the protector. Try to remove as many air bubbles as possible while applying the protector.

Another important note: Although I am using a blister pack in this photo, the correct tool to use is a credit card. The credit card is much more effective.

    11. Gently start applying the screen protector onto the screen, slowly peeling it off the protective plastic base. Use your credit card to gently press out any air bubbles from the middle, then upwards, then downwards.

If you put air bubbles under the protector accidentally, gently pull off the protector a small amount, then reapply so that the air bubbles are gone.

    12. Once you are satisfied with the installation of your screen protector, then gently push out any existing air bubbles near the edges with your credit card.

    13. Turn off the shower and enjoy your protected screen.
