I want to put a sim card into my cf19 to see what happens. But the cover on the back is held on with some kind of tamper proof screw. At first glance it looked like a torx but upon closer inspection it seems to be something else. Anyone know what the bit type is?

Looks to me like a hex or iPhone screw. Maybe. Idk.

Actually I think that amazon has a large tool kit. Although maybe you don’t need a pentalobe

Oh I forgot to confirm the size here.

Yeah it was a security torx T7.

When I opened it there was already a sim card included from the seller. It's a UK sim but it still gets some kind of signal I think. Can't connect to it though. But even if I put in a local sim, how do i get it to work? Is there some kind of software to manage it?

Is your sim a CDMA or GSM? What’s your toughbook too?

    CF-19.

GSM was the old one right? The sim in there is new. Anyway I was just going to try take the one out of my phone and put it in. But I need to get a big sim blank to hold it. Mine is a mini sim or whatever.

Once my sim adapter gets here I'll shove my own phone sim in there and see what happens! :D

    Of course it's GSM.
If you insert SIM card it will work :))
Depends on your OS. Win 7+ without additional software.
Also usually you have to insert SIM when your laptop is powered off. Or power it off and on after you insert SIM.

I use the sim from my phone in my 31. Like BaRRmaley said, make sure your unit if off, then install the sim and fire the unit up.
I can't speak to whether you will need software or not. I use Linux and the network manager (built in ) handles the connection with no problems.

    Nope, MC7305 for Europe.
I know this is for EM series, but there are same modules in MC form-factor.

Ah good man. I was just coming back to correct myself. Checked my bands and I need 800MHz which is B20?

Would that mean I need 7710/7304 then?

Yeah I did but the 7305 listings I read don't specify the 800 band..........

That 7565 sounds like the bees knees if it is indeed global. Expensive though.

Yeah I found the 7455 too. Just a newer model I suppose.

I found another fancy chart myself:

Harbor freight has a set of security bits for <$10, and it should include that one, IIRC.
