    Hi all,

I read somewhere (a seller on ebay) that SP3 is NOT recommended on the cf-28. Is there any truth to this? My latest required update is SP3 on my licensed copy of WinXP Pro. Am I safe to let it proceed?

    Thanks,

    Krash.

There may be a driver issue, that you might have to resolve
I remember an issue with the wired lan on a cf-28 that I worked on
It was resolved though, so I recomend sp3
I have upgraded all mk# cf-28's with it

Yeah... There seemed to be early on in its release... But I think you'd be okay now with installing it. If you are going onto the Internet... You really should! ;)

I am running service pack 3 on a CF-27 with no issues so I wondered about that as well.

KLonsdale... You probably have the most advanced CF-27 on the planet! :)

Every single CF-28 I had I ran SP3 with the most current updates minus windows search 4.0, that really mucked up the system and slowed it down, you might want to avoid that one

I let it update a few days ago.

I posted here over a year ago about this same issue on the CF-28s I was selling. It seemed like shortly after I updated with SP3 it took much more time for just about everything! Since then I moved up to faster Toughbooks and haven't really paid attention since SP3 really needs to be installed.
