Shawn had a stroke yesterday morning. (12/22) He contacted me and said it was o.k. to share the information.
Yesterday afternoon he said his speech was better. This morning he had an "angio thing". (Shawn's words) and it went well...no Doctor's report yet.
I'll ask later for a snail-mail address. He resides in Pennsylvania.
Updates as I get them as long as my network stays up. I was on shaky 3G wireless last night when I wanted to share this.
Thank you.
Jeff

I hope you recover soon and fully Shawn. Rest and more rest.

I am getting lots of rest..Still pretty scared and lots of stuff going on in my head.
My faith has been weak, at best, for quite some time. The stroke makes faith a much more important issue. Please PM me your stories of faith.
Thanks again -

Shawn,
As a survivor of preemie birth and Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida, you can overcome the odds. I did. Will be a lot of work. Best wishes for speedy healing. May you be tougher than your ToughBooks are. Hang in there. Challenges can be worked around, opportunity is out there for you. -
Well folks.
Today makes one year since the stroke.
I am ok for the most part.
Anxiety can still be an issue.
My energy level is improving slowly, but it is improving.
No noticeable physical problems other than the fatigue and sleeping is a bit irregular.
I don't have much of a filter on my mouth anymore. If I think it, I tend to say it. Especially if I am emotional.

woot !
keep on keepin' on . -
glad to hear you are doing well in your recovery

"... that's what makes you special ..."
oh gawd ... now we're gonna have to grease the sides of his head to get him through the doorways !
-
I already grease my head. It makes it harder to catch me.

however , i shall digress . -
Anxiety and 120 proof coffee, the kind that the spoon stands up in. That's me! I sleep with earplugs as it cuts the startling wakeups down to a minimum. Doing good man, keep it up.

Good to Hear Shawn. It gets better each and every day, just keep your positive attitude!
